Spirit Medicine: precognition

Precognition means to know something before it happens. However, there are some nuances on how that might happen, and it isn’t necessarily because of the ability to predict the future or see into the future. To distinguish these, there are some broad categories:

  1. Intentions transmitted by specific people before an action. For example, you have an intuition or a dream where a family member appears before a phone call.

  2. Intentions of the collective consciousness that were received and divined before the action materialized. This is similar to telepathic transmissions from specific people, but at the gestalt of the collective. This may be a community, group, team, institution, government, corporation, nation, or even the world-wide collective of humans. It may involve non-human collectives as well.

  3. Transmissions by spirit guides, allies, or those with karmic connections such as potential children. Generally, spirits are not as bound to the space and time we live in, and can see possible futures or ripening of karma, and thus try to warn or advise.

  4. In the same way someone may be able to follow the threads of karma into the past, some are able to sense the direction of karma into potential future lives. This has a lot more to do with sensing how longings and regrets may drive uncontrolled births, and the way current hangups may be replayed in future lives. This isn’t simply modelling the likely way karma will ripen or unfold, or even to read the current patterns of karma and intuit how it ripens. Just as reading past life karma can connect the current moment with the past moment, and allow one to do spirit and energy work for healing for past life truamas, so too can reading the future life karma can connect the current moment with the future moment, and allow one to do spirit and energy work for healing future lives. As an example, during initiation, Tantric gurus will burn away the karmic seeds both past and future for their initiate.

  5. Directly reading the timestreams. This is related to 4, but the consciousness is able to directly read the timestreams and not just following the karma.

If you were to read posts in r/precognition, the vast majority of them falls under categories (1), (2), and (3), and rarely (4), or even more rarely (5).

Distinguishing this way is useful because they are each trained and developed differently. (1) and (2) should be trained as telepathy, whereas (3) has more to do with spirit work, shamanism, and mediumship.

(4) is trained by developing the ability to sense and follow karma.

Only (5) has something to do with the streams of time itself.
